Shift

Shift aims to exist in the adjoining realm of physics and metaphysics, as it blurs the distinction of forms from perceptions. Exploring the disparity of an individual’s understanding of the world and the world itself, Naim aims to unravel the mental constructs of time, space, form and boundary through her surrealist structures and their representations. Using her interpretation of objects of time as a point of reference, Naim’s series regards time as a mere representation of a moment. While originally based on illustrations of gravity, string theory, waves, and other scientific calculations, these sculptures are slightly shifted off-axis to contradict the realist impression of form, space and time.
